lifetech.brussels wants to support and foster the internationalization of its members. To that end, the cluster offers a broad range of services:

  • International technological and commercial missions in partnership with Brussels Invest & Export (eg.: Medica, Bio)
  • Help our members to find international partners for technological purposes via the Enterprise Europe Network
  • Facilitate access to European Research Programmes via the National Contact Point
  • Facilitate access to specific regions thanks to our partneships (eg.: Honk Kong Science Parks)
  • Assistance to help our members to get subsidies

Brussels invest & export
Brussels Invest & Export is the foreign trade and foreign investment department of the Brussels Region Public Service (BRPS). Brussels Invest & Export works on behalf of the economic development of the Brussels-Capital Region by fulfilling a two-fold mission:

  • Helping Brussels companies to expand into international markets
  • Prospecting among foreign companies and assisting them in planning their strategic relocation to the capital of Europe

EEN – Enterprise Europe Brussels Network
Enterprise Europe Brussels is your business support for entrepreneurship, innovation and internationalization in Europe and beyond.
Set up and funded by the European Commission, our network is composed by more than 600 organizations from 54 countries mostly in Europe. The main objective is to support SMEs in their innovation and internationalization projects by providing them value-added services:

  • The Partnership Opportunities Database contains thousands of company profiles looking for business, innovation or research partners
  • International matchmaking events across Europe offer the opportunity to meet potential partners in person
  • Company mission: visit to a focus country with a group of companies. The program includes company meetings and visits, organised by the network’s local partner.

NCP – National Contact Point Brussels
Brussels National Contact Point (NCP Brussels) is a regional initiative whose aim is to help companies, universities, research centres and other stakeholders of the Brussels Capital Region to access EU funding for Research and Innovation.
NCP Brussels team can assist and advise you before the project submission, during the project implementation and for the exploitation of the project’s results.

REGIONAL SUBSIDIES AND FINANCING POSSIBILITIES

Export incentives
The Brussels-Capital Region has 5 export incentives available covering the main aspects of seeking out international opportunities:

  • Promotion aimed at foreign markets
  • Canvassing abroad
  • International trade fairs
  • Responding to calls for tender
  • Setting up representative offices outside of the European Union.

Other useful subsidies

  • Taking a training course in foreign trade
  • Support of a consultant specialising in international trade (feasibility study of your export project or for market research)
  • Recruit a FTP for the promotion and the development of your activities outside the European Union

Investments

Exportbru, a subsidiary of the Brussels Regional Investment Agency, can help you to deal with the financial requirements generated by your export business.
