In the updated e-Health roadmap 2015 – 2018, the federal government has foreseen an additional action point ‘Mobile Health’. The objective is to provide a framework for Mobile Health (mHealth) applications to be integrated into the HealthCare system (including a possible refund).
Thanks to digital applications (apps and software), Mobile Health enables the patient, his entourage and various health care providers to collect, visualize, share and use intelligently health and wellness related information.
The Call for projects with Health Applications (apps and devices) will be launched in late June. Caregivers will be given the opportunity to submit a project.
One of the main criteria will be guaranteed privacy and data security. Semantic Interoperability, Evidence based, usability and functionality are the other main criteria.

The official launch of the call will take place in late June 2016. Minister De Block hopes to start the first m-health pilotprojects in December or at the latest in early 2017.
She provides 3.25 million euros for this pilot case.
